The Brigid Shea for County Commissioner Campaign is offering positions for campaign interns to help our team win the Democratic Primary held in March of 2014.
Working closely with the Campaign Manager, you will have a unique opportunity to work on all aspects of the campaign- hardworking and reliable interns will be given numerous opportunities to work on communications, grassroots organizing and fundraising. Interns may also be asked to direct press calls, help with voter contact and work on ongoing research projects.
We are flexible for part time and full time interns, though both are likely to have unconventional hours due to special events and the nature of a fast-paced political campaign.
The ideal candidate has a passion for active participation in the political process, firmly progressive politics, and cares about the issues that affect citizens on the local level, including water conservation, women's reproductive rights, efficiency in government, protecting our parks and natural resources, public safety and a fair labor market.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
Ambitious self-starter capable of working on your own and creating new projects.
Strong written and communication skills.
Strong organizational skills for event, calendar and media maintenance.
Preferred major in Political Science or Research.
Priority given to those with past experience volunteering or working on political campaigns, using a voter database, and analyzing election data.
Must be detail oriented, have the ability to multitask, and have transportation to our office (on North Lamar blvd, accessible by bus).
Please include resume and cover letter in your response.
This is an unpaid internship with the possibility of compensation if the intern proves to be hardworking and competent after several weeks on the job.
The Brigid Shea Campaign is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Applicants of diverse
backgrounds are welcomed and encouraged to apply.
