Hi, my name is Tim Meyer. I’m a 20-year-old sophomore at the University of Texas at Austin, a member of the University Democrats, and I support Brigid Shea for Travis County Commissioner in Precinct 2!
Several days during the week and on the weekends, you’ll find me at Brigid’s campaign headquarters where I am a part of the team as an intern. I met Brigid’s field director, Joe Emmons, at a UDems meeting earlier this year and talked with him about volunteering for the campaign. I applied for an internship, got the invitation to join the team, and here I am.
As an intern, I primarily contribute to the campaign through voter outreach. I reach out to voters by placing calls to Precinct 2 voters and answering any questions they may have about Brigid or the election. I also participate in block walking--going door-to-door and having conversations with people who live in Precinct 2.
I like the fact that Brigid has a wealth of experience protecting our environment. That’s very important to me. Many political candidates don’t pay much attention to the environment, or they focus on the environment just enough to get elected. When they get into office, they don’t bother to protect our resources. Brigid has shown me she truly cares about the environment, and I know that she will make it a priority when she takes office.
And, to put it simply, Brigid is a great person and I couldn’t ask for a better boss.
When it comes to the race for the next Travis County Commissioner, I am proud to say that my vote is for Brigid Shea. If you have any questions about this race or about what Brigid stands for, I would encourage you to come on over to the campaign headquarters. I’ll be happy to fill you in on what I know and share more about my experience working with the team. Or just ask me your questions in the comments section below.
Thank you for reading, and if you’re looking to contribute to a worthy political cause, think about joining me as a volunteer for the Brigid Shea campaign for Travis County Commissioner.
