My First Presidential Election Vote

Brigid SheaWith early voting starting tomorrow (2/18), Brigid took time from her busy schedule to celebrate Presidents Day by sharing a little about who the first Presidential candidate she voted for and why!

The first President I voted for was Jimmy Carter in 1976. He had been an outspoken leader on the environment, particularly working to reduce our dependence on foreign oil and encourage renewables. After his election, I worked for a Congressman in Minnesota and I reviewed people's inventions funded by the Fed's energy efficiency grants.  Some of them were amazing and ahead of their time. I felt Carter was a visionary for supporting these programs and that history will ultimately treat him better than it did when he left office.

Thanks for reading and I have a wonderful Presidents Day!
